the Community
The motto of Lions Clubs International is
"We Serve" and this means
responding to appeals for help.

We get appeals for help of various nature,some direct
from people who can find no other avenue of assistance.
|
|
|
Other appeals come from community groups, themselves
helping the community directly, and often short of
funds.
|
|
|
All appeals are treated in confidence, which is one of
the reasons why so much of our work goes un-noticed.

All this is made possible by the support you give, we
appreciate the trust that you have in Lions, for they work
for those less fortunate them themselves.

Spending YOUR donations
So how do we decide how to spend the money raised by our various
efforts?
|
|
After we receive a request for help it is then discussed
at our business meeting, if it is decided that we can be of
assistance, it then becomes a Club project, and a Project
officer is appointed.
|
|
|
|
Project officer; this member will then select other Club
members to serve on a committee, their job will be to plan,
organize & supervise a fund raising event for that
project.
|
|
|
The Riverside Lions
Club have a number of ongoing help projects, some
of these being, Kids with
Cancer, Prostate Cancer
Research & Treatment in conjunction with The Mater
Medical Research Centre. Plus we have a close
working association with the Down
Syndrome Association.

Our members are from all walks of life, men and women, a mix of
ages, representing YOU when we are asked to part with YOUR donations.
